Central City Plan - Final Draft Adopted

On Thursday 15 December, the final draft of the Central City Plan was adopted by the Christchurch City Council. The Plan includes changes made as a result of the submission and hearing process, including a four year window to rebuild buildings to the same height as before the earthquake, and the removal of maximum and minium car parking restrictions.

The Plan will be presented to the Minister for Earthquake Recovery next Wednesday 21 December for consideration, with Cabinet expected to make a final decision on the plan by April.  At the same time, the Council will notify the Plan, on behalf of the Minister, for further written comments.

The final draft Plan is available on the Council’s website at http://www.ccc.govt.nz/centralcityplan
