My career to date

I commenced my legal career with court work covering criminal, civil and commercial disputes.  Early on I developed a very strong interest in planning law, now known as resource management law.  Ultimately, I specialised in resource management law representing applicants and councils in a wide variety of forums, advocating and negotiating on their behalf.

What I enjoy about my work

The immense variety in project work presents opportunity to work alongside many other professionals.  I am always learning.  It is satisfying to help clients and accompany them on their journey as a project develops through to a successful conclusion.  

What you can expect from me

I will present you with options and very clear recommendations and explain why. You make the choice. I am pragmatic.  I will be efficient and cost effective.  If I am not, I will be accountable to you.

What I enjoy away from work

I enjoy socialising with friends and family.  I thoroughly enjoy sport: I road-bike, sail, kayak and, when there are no earthquakes, walk in the Port Hills.

I enjoy theatre and the company of friends and family over a well-prepared meal.

I enjoy reading, probably with a bent toward history.
