My career to date

I began practising environmental law in NZ over 20 years ago and since that time I have practised environmental law in London and Sydney, returning to my home town of Christchurch a few years ago. While overseas I gained extensive experience advising on industrial, commercial and residential developments and major transport projects. Since returning to NZ, I have worked for clients on matters across a range of industries including agriculture, education and construction and development.

What I enjoy about my work

I enjoy the variety of work that I do as an environmental lawyer from advising clients in relation to residential developments to providing environmental risk advice in relation to commercial transactions and appearing at hearings before local authorities and the Environment Court. I also really enjoy getting to know my clients and understanding their businesses and operations, in the detail required to advise on environmental issues. It makes for very interesting work.

What you can expect from me

My clients benefit from my ability to identify legal issues quickly and focus on solutions that are timely and commercial.

What I enjoy outside of work

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my three young children and getting out into the amazing outdoors that we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep in Christchurch.
